7-16: Underway to the "Big Chute Railway"-stayed at the blue line for a peaceful evening, getting rested up for tomorrows adventure on the rails. The Big Chute is a marine railway barge, in place of a lock, to carry your boat over a large glacial rock formation that they were unable to build a lock thru.

7-17: Quite an adventurous day, starting with the trip over the chute with Irish Ayes astern. No problem and an exciting experience-see pix, when I get a chance to upload. However exhilaration turned sour when our engine began to overheat shortly after leaving the chute. Shut down and pulled a decimated raw water impeller from the pump, with Irish Ayes, Xplorer and Sequel standing by. Small boat from White Falls Marina came out and towed us in after I damaged the spare impeller by not opening the seacock right away. The marina found me an impeller nearby and after replacing #2 with the new one and clearing the hose of debris from impeller #1, we were on our way to Port Severn in a few hours and $245.00 poorer. Thanks, however, to Paul White, who took very good care of us, at a very reasonable price.

7-18: After a nice night at Severn Boat Haven, we locked thru the final lock in the AM with the "3 Amigos" as we now refer to them(Irish Ayes, Xplorer and Sequel) and crossed over to Bay Moorings Marina at Penetanguishene, the site of our Loop Rendezvous next week. Lovely dinner at the Inn with the 3 A's.
