The architecture of town halls in NY is apparently unparalleled. This is the second one this week that looks more like a church.
Oswego NY is the setting for this evening of entertainment
No, really, they call themselves Brats! They work the docks for the village of Phoenix running errands and welcoming weary boaters. They have Tom & Gerry's breakfast all ready to go.
Phoenix, NY July Average Temps range from a low of 60 to a high of 81.
Phoenix, AZ July Average Temps range from a low of 82 to a high of 104.
The webmaster lives near Phoenix and has seen 116 degrees several times this month. I'm not bitter, am I?
This was built in 1909, in Germantown, PA. All 42 horses were hand carved by Leo Zoller, a master carver, over the course of a year for $1000. It has travelled from Kentucky to Massachussetts, to Pennsylvania, and then to New York. It took 2 years to restore it to its present, authentic 1909 condition. It is 54 feet in diameter and weighs nearly 30 tons. It is now the showcase of the Carousel Center Mall in Syracuse.
They just don't build them like this anymore

Has Tom finally driven Gerry crazy? Maybe it was the idea of having to cook everything in the broken freezer, again!
This mill is still in operation across from Lock 3 on the Cayuga-Seneca Canals. Seneca Falls, NY is the home of the women's rights movement, when in July of 1848, Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton organized a convention which produced the Seneca Falls Declaration. This document acted as the goal of movement for the next 70 years.
The 5 star Patisserie comes complete with John and his hat. Now that's authentic!

The Captain rests after a two sunny days in a row!
Home of the son inventor of the paper bag and founder of the Beech Nut company. Of course, the father was probably disappointed he couldn't chew his way out of a paper bag... Sorry about that one.
Winding through the picturesque valley
When the webmaster saw the filename for posting (guypark.jpg) he just thought it was a picture of a guy in a park (which it is). But, now he realizes that the picture is actually Captain Tom at THE Guy Park House, located at Lock 11 on the Erie Canal. The historic landmark is now the Amsterdam, NY Chamber of Commerce.
Someone has to run the lock, and today is Cindy's turn. Captain Tom lends a hand.
Because heading upstream would be impossible otherwise!
Patience is a virtue while waiting for lock passage
