Good thing Tom has that big orange flag. He just got his training wheels removed!
The flag over Fort McHenry, and the Battle for Baltimore (Sept 13-14, 1814) was the inspiration for Francis Scott Key to write "The Star Spangled Banner". Below is the first verse, although there are actually three more.
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Thank you to all the brave men and women who have served, and especially to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, to defend our flag and our freedom.
Juggler, BMX biker, Comedian, Aerialist, Evel Knievel impersonator (notice the pants), Pole Sitter, Business Man (notice the shirt), Ronco Pitchman, and those are just his day jobs!
Gracious host, fellow Mainshipper, husband of Patti, and just an all around good guy.
It seems like there are going to be a lot of pictures of Gerry with bronze statues on this adventure, doesn't it?
Billy and Caroline Clare bring their wonderful children, Jonathon and Erica, on what Uncle Tom promises to be just a three hour tour, a three hour tour......
The crew poses shortly before the mutiny...
Caroline: I don't want to drive!
Billy: Me neither... Here, let Jonathon drive!
Jonathon: Who me? OK!
Captain Tom is an officer in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and should be well qualified to give boating lessons.
Move over Tom! We've got another Admiral in the making!
Although President Bush didn't try to pull another Top Gun onto a ship in the harbor, Donald Rumsfeld decided to speak at the US Naval Academy graduation ceremonies. Security was rather tight in the harbor on this dreary day.
No, Donald Rumsfeld had nothing to do with the naming of this public dock in downtown Annapolis.
Proud Owners of Temptress, a 43' Vista Motoryacht. What great boat names recently. Yesterday it was Sultanna, today it's Temptress. Can Dominatrix be far behind?
LAND HO!!!! (Look up on the mast)
Apparently famous, but who knows why?

Tom is stylish on the way to Tangier Island. 5/18
Like New Orleans, the cemetery is above ground, since the island is only 4' above sea level.
Waterfront living! Work from home! Easy access to the water!
Gerry stops the lattice arms of this Windmill Point Resort landmark moments before they possibly could have bumped into her and caused a vicious bruise. Whew!
These repairs better work, or we're coming back here in 4 months!
They sure do love statues in Virginia
Tom, JJ and Lise go Colonial
What kind of appetizers do these people have?
Interior Decorator with a big Budget
Look out behind you, Gerry!
Whoever these guys are, they've been at it a while!
This is an example of a Navy Sea Knight in action
A beautiful sunset at the Smithfield Station Inn and Marina.
(Paul thinks this may be the best photograph of the trip)
1809: Abe Lincoln was born in a log Cabin in Kentucky.
1881: Pablo Picasso was born at home in Málaga, Spain.
1967: Paul Clare was born here, at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital
Let's hope The Sea Knight's Romulan cloaking device is working.
Ambrosia means "The food of the gods, thought to confer immortality." The owners, Les & Michael, must have high expectations.
Cinco de Mayo, one day early. Cuatro de Mayo just doesn't have the same ring to it.
